Many of the world's most amazing animals are under threat from deforestation.
Deforestation increases conflicts between tigers and humans, and makes tigers more vulnerable to hunting. Between 1998 and 2011, 638 human-tiger conflicts were recorded in Sumatra, in which tigers killed 72 people and wounded 63 more. The Sumatran tiger is classified as critically endangered on the Red List of Threatened Species.
